Case study 3:
A cable TV company operating in a major European capital needed simultaneously to monitor over 100 channels, each requiring information in up to 16 languages, plus teletext services.
Running 100 small monitor screens would be impractical, inelegant and inefficient.
Big Blue 2 wrote the software to allow PC-based automated monitoring of groups of channels on a 52in plasma screen. Alarms warn the operator of porblems, which tend to happen in groups.
The system allows sophisticated logging of faults, effectively providing a dynamic database of performance generating weekly archive reports - essential in the event of contractual disputes.
